Robot Chicks:

Each Robot Chick begins as a unique hand sculpted original. I use a 2-part epoxy-like clay called Magic-Sculpt to make the original form. Magic-Sculpt is really great stuff, it smooths with water, it hardens over time and is super strong after it's fully cured. You can carve it, sand it, drill it...A high quality mold is then made from the original and a resin casting is then customized with hand crafted aluminum wings, rivets, old sewing machine parts and other found objects. Each Robot Chick is a one-of-a-kind piece of sculpture and is named and numbered and comes with her own hand stamped ID tag. The metallic-like patina is meticulously hand done and has to be seen in-person to truly be appreciated.

Brent Harris:

Graphic guru and T-shirt Czar, Brent Harris lives in Metro Detroit, where he attended the Center for Creative Studies and Wayne State University, studying both Graphic Design and Painting. For the past 15 years Brent has been the sole owner and operator of a successful design studio, Art Machine. Raised on a healthy dose of old Godzilla movies, hot rod culture and the early discovery of one of his Dad's Playboy magazines, set the early seeds for what would later become...Robot Chicks! In 1999 Brent made his first Robot Chick Sculpture, which was promptly sold at it's first showing.

"There's a personal satisfaction that comes from getting your hands dirty and the occasional minor flesh wound incurred while building something from nothing. The blending of found objects and my own sculptures to create something completely new, is the real fun for me. I'm always looking at objects as what they could be, rather than what they are."

FAQ's:

¥ Are the Robot Chicks made of metal?

No, but they do look like they are. The actual body form of the robot chick starts out as a high quality resin casting. Then I use a metallic wax and various types of clear coat to get a metallic looking finish. The finish really has to be seen in person to appreciate. The wings and hair and other various add ons are all made of various metals.

Testimonials:

Letter from a former client:

Thank you so much for letting me buy Kyroptera! The pictures on the web site didn't do her justice - the craftsmanship is awesome and she's one of the most unusual and most beautiful works of art I've ever had the pleasure of owning. You'll be pleased to know that she's a constant talking point (okay, admittedly, most of the fellas are enraptured with her boobies, but what can I say? They are incredible!).

I also have to say that you really pulled out the stops to get her delivered to me in pristine condition and the service you provided in delivering her to me was excellent. I want more!

Thanks!
Jo Lewis
